CAPA in conjunction with the National Association Of Women Organizations in Uganda (NAWOU) jointly hosted a consultation on Migration “The New Face of Migration in the Context of Terrorism and Climate Change” on the 15th and 16th of May, 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The consultation was an African regional effort to contribute to advocacy work on the rights of migrants under the coalition of Churches Witnessing With Migrants (CWWM). CWWM is a loose coalition of faith based institutions, networks, trade unions and other institutions engaged in migration issues at the different levels globally.

The overall objective of the consultation was to create a platform for dialogue between partners to identify the root causes of migration, available frameworks and tools for advocacy and other responses on the national level in order to come up with a common position on the current migration crisis, to feed into policy recommendations for African Policy makers and actions for policy implementers.
